Police: Airplane makes emergency landing at a Central Kentucky airport

One person was sent to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries in Frankfort Monday after an airplane had to make an emergency landing.

An airplane had to make an emergency landing at Capital City Airport in Frankfort Monday, according to the Frankfort Police Department.

Police received a report about an airplane needing to conduct an emergency landing at 10:41 a.m., police said. The pilot ultimately landed in the grass on the airplane’s belly.

One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, according to police. An investigation is being conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration.

More information about the incident wasn’t immediately available.
