Woman struck by car on U.S. 460 in Franklin County
A pedestrian was injured Thursday night when she was struck by a car, according to Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton.
Destiny Rancher, 22, of Frankfort was either standing or or was closed to the inbound fog line of U.S. 460 (Georgetown Road), east of Frankfort about 6:40 p.m. when she was hit by a 2012 Buick Regal driven by Joslyn Akins, 23, also of Frankfort, Melton said in a news release.
Deputies found Rancher on the shoulder of the road with serious injuries. She was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington, where she was treated and released.
Members of the Frankfort/Franklin County reconstruction unit were called to assist with the investigation.
The accident was reported at 6:40 p.m. Thursday east of Frankfort.
