Frankfort police investigate Centennial Drive shooting of man

A young man was shot in the hip as he was lying in bed Monday morning, Frankfort police said.

The 19-year-old was injured after a shot was fired from a second-floor apartment and through the ceiling of his first-floor apartment, said Maj. Rob Warfel, spokesman for Frankfort police. Warfel couldn’t say for sure if the man was shot in the right or left hip.

In any case, the man was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

The shooting happened in the 200 block of Centennial Drive off Schenkel Lane. When officers went to the second-floor apartment, no one was there, Warfel said.

The shooting was reported at about 9:30 a.m. Monday. No charges had been filed as of Monday afternoon.
