Frankfort teen dies while kayaking

An 18-year-old from Frankfort drowned Monday, state police said.

Keyan R. Wickers was found unresponsive in the Kentucky River after a call was received by Frankfort dispatchers at 8:03 a.m., according to a news release. He had been kayaking earlier, state police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police said they are continuing to investigate.
