Spooky Time on Main and ‘Thriller’

Spooky Time on Main, Nicholasville’s community trick-or-treat, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday on Main Street. The Jessamine Journal Costume Contest for children ages 12 and younger will be at 5 p.m. at the courthouse. The “Thriller” dance will be performed by Mindy’s Jessamine School of Classical Dance at 6 and 7 p.m. Main Street from Oak to Chestnut will be closed between 5:30 and 8 p.m. For more information, call Ruby Mason at 859-333-3033.

Ghost Hunt at Camp Nelson

Hunt for ghosts on the hallowed grounds of Camp Nelson Civil War Park, with certified ghost hunter Starr Williams, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday.

Ghost hunters will explore the refugee cemetery, prison site and earthen forts. A portion of the $25 admission fee goes to assist in the preservation of Camp Nelson.

Children younger than 13 are not permitted. Ages 13 to 18 are permitted with an adult. This is an outside event; wear appropriate attire. Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park is located on U.S. Route 27, six miles south of Nicholasville. Reservations are required; call 859-881-5716.
