Comments sought on bike and pedestrian master plan

Citizen input is sought at the Lexington Area Metro Planning Organization Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan Open House from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jessamine County Public Library, 600 South Main Street, Nicholasville.

Community members may drop in at any time during the open house to chat with the project team and provide input.

The plan aims to improve bike and pedestrian safety and accessibility in Fayette and Jessamine counties. The end result of this planning process will be a report with maps and recommendations for bikeways, sidewalks, crosswalks, greenway trails and related policies, programs and infrastructure. Cookout at Tractor Supply

The Jessamine County Beef Cattle Association will be cooking from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Tractor Supply parking lot, 1015 North Main Street, Nicholasville. Free movie at City-County Park

First Southern Bank will present a free outdoor showing of Disney’s “Moana” on Saturday at City-County Park in Nicholasville. Come early for activities and food, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The movie will start at about 9 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Paint like Picasso at Wine and Canvas

Feel like a budding Picasso at the Wine and Canvas paint party from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at First Vineyard Winery, 5800 Sugar Creek Pike. Supplies needed to create a masterpiece are included in the $35 fee: 16-by-20 gallery-wrapped canvas, paint, brushes, easel, apron and step-by-step instructions. Beverages are not included. This is a 21 and older event. Registrations due by Friday; call 859-433-4844.
