All-American Burger Bash is on

The Jessamine County Fairgrounds will be the setting for the All-American Burger Bash on Friday and Saturday.

The free event will feature a balloon glow, a burger grill-off and a talent competition, as well as kids’ games, inflatables, a pet costume contest, a watermelon-eating contest and food trucks. The event wraps up on Saturday evening with a showing of the “The Lego Batman Movie” and a fireworks display.

New river guide available

The third edition of the Kentucky River Guide has been published by the Jessamine County’s Kentucky River Task Force with funding provided by the Jessamine County Fiscal Court.

The new edition has been expanded and updated to include an inventory of landmarks and historical features from the Brooklyn Bridge at U.S. Route 68 to the Clay’s Ferry Bridge at Interstate 75 along with maps and GPS coordinates.

Copies are available at the Jessamine County Courthouse or by online request at KentuckyRiverBlueway.com.

Rooster Booster Breakfast clucks politics

Get an update on local politics at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Rooster Booster Breakfast at the Central Bank meeting room, 301 North Main Street.
