Serious collision causes injuries on a Central Kentucky road. Police investigating

A section of U.S. 27 in Nicholasville is back open after a serious injury collision Thursday evening, according to the Nicholasville Police Department.

The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Elizabeth Drive at roughly 8:15 p.m. Thursday, police said. U.S. 27 was shut down while the collision reconstruction team investigated the accident.

The road was reported to be reopened at 10:37 p.m. by police. There’s no word on the conditions of any of the individuals involved in the crash. WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner, said one person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
