Man killed, woman injured in KY shooting. Police say shooter is cooperating
A man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting Thursday morning in Nicholasville, police say.
The shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. at an apartment building on Edgewood Drive. Nicholasville police Maj. Matt Marshall said officers were originally told one person was shot, but they found two people with gunshot wounds at the scene.
A man was shot twice in the abdomen, and a woman was shot in the arm, Marshall said. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died, Marshall said. The woman was also taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.
The shooter remained at the apartment building and is cooperating with authorities. Marshall said the shooter has been interviewed and officers are executing a search warrant at the apartment building.
An investigation is ongoing. Marshall said it’s too soon to tell if the shooter could face charges.
