Support river preservation and history by buying a Kentucky River afghan

Show your support for river preservation and history with the purchase of a Kentucky River afghan from the Kentucky River Task Force of Jessamine County. The full-color afghan depicts natural and historical scenes along the river, including blue heron, the Devil’s Pulpit, High Bridge, Valley View Ferry and the palisades.

New trails website promotes recreation, fitness

The Jessamine County Trails Association has launched a new website designed to promote exercise and recreation on local trails in the Jessamine County area. Plan outdoor activities such as walking, jogging, hiking, biking, paddling and horseback riding at Jesscotrails.wordpress.com.

The website provides information on the difficulty of trails and available facilities, such as restrooms or picnic tables, along with maps and photographs of the county.

The association is a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing and maintaining multi-use greenways and paths that provide recreational opportunities, promote environmental awareness, preserve natural resources and encourage healthful lifestyles for residents and visitors.
