Two people escape Nicholasville house fire
Fire heavily damaged a house on Nicholasville’s west side early Tuesday morning.
The cause of the fire at 313 Hawthorne Drive, near Lone Oak Golf Course, remains under investigation, Nicholasville Fire Chief Mark Case said.
Two people were able to get out of the house safely, Case said. Records with the Jessamine County property valuation administrator’s office list the owner as Doryce W. Wise.
The fire was reported about 3 a.m. Tuesday. Case said there was “significant” fire and smoke damage throughout the house and attic.
The 3,170-square-feet house, with a fireplace, was built in 1992 and had a fair cash value of $304,000, according to property records.
Case said between 20 and 30 firefighters responded to the scene.
