Man, 41, is killed in Jessamine County motorcycle crash

A Nicholasville man was killed Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash, according to the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.

Shane Carson, 41, died at the scene, according to Jessamine County Coroner Michael Hughes.

Carson was on a a 1998 Kawasaki northbound on Old Danville Road about 7 miles south of Nicholasville when he lost control. The motorcycle ran off the left side of the road and crashed into several trees. Deputies were called just after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Carson was not wearing a helmet, the sheriff’s office said.

This was the third traffic death in 2016 worked by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.
