Stephen McBride, director of interpretation at Camp Nelson Civil War Park, received the Clay Lancaster Heritage Education Award from the Bluegrass Trust at a June ceremony. McBride has led the historical and archaeological investigations and preservation, educational and interpretation efforts at Camp Nelson since 2001. McBride communicates Camp Nelson’s unique story to the public and scholars through numerous historical and archaeological publications, lectures and on-site tours. He also completed National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmark nominations for Camp Nelson.
Jessamine County Fair starts Monday
The Jessamine County Fair will begin Monday and continue through July 16 at the Jessamine County Fairgrounds on Miles Road. Enjoy carnival attractions, pageants and agricultural competitions.
