Updated: Motorcyclist dies after crash with pickup truck in Central Kentucky

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Madison County Thursday night.

Justin Ray Napier, 25, died after colliding with a pickup truck on Old Lexington Road, according to Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison. Napier was headed southbound and hit the truck going northbound, likely head-on, Cornelison said. Napier and his motorcycle both went under the truck, Cornelison said.

The wreck was called into emergency dispatch before 9:30 p.m., Cornelison said. He said he was called to the incident just after 9:30, and pronounced Napier of Elizabethtown dead on the scene.

Cornelison said he’s not sure what caused the accident. He said he didn’t see any indication of intoxication, but police were investigating further.

Cornelison said there were multiple people in the pickup truck, but he couldn’t tell how many, and none of them were injured.
