Updated: Victims identified after Central Kentucky house fire that leaves 2 dead

Two people in Madison County are dead after a fatal house fire Sunday evening, according to Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison.

The victims were identified as Heaven Renner, 26, and Tony Damrell, 57, Cornelison said. An autopsy was being conducted Monday morning and an official cause of death has not been determined yet.

The fire happened in the 1500 block of Paint Lick Road in Berea a little before 11 p.m., according to the Berea Fire Department. When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the home.

When firefighters made entry into the home to do a search, they found the two victims. The coroner and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office were notified after the fire was extinguished, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
