Before she died, Richmond woman, 23, told police her husband was holding a gun to her head

A young couple died in an apparent murder-suicide in Richmond Friday night, but a baby inside the home was unhurt.

The woman, Jacquelyn Rose, 23, called police dispatch at about 11:30 p.m. and said that "her husband was holding a gun to her head," said Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison.

Cornelison said that when Richmond police arrived at the apartment on Blackwell Court, they found the door locked and heard a shot inside.

After breaking the door in, Cornelison said police found both Jacqueline Rose and her husband, Jesse Rose, 23, dead.

He said a baby in the apartment was unharmed and was taken into the custody of social services workers.

Cornelison said Jacqueline Rose's family lives in California, and Jesse Rose is from Jackson County.

Autopsies were scheduled to be conducted Saturday afternoon.
