A man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash Monday morning after brandishing a handgun during a gas station robbery in Berea.

Midway Express was robbed about 6:15 a.m., according to a news release by the Madison County sheriff's department.

The robber is described as a white man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with "Kentucky" across the front, dark pants, a toboggan and sunglasses, according to the sheriff's department.

Berea police said the robber apparently left in a red pickup truck with damage to the front driver side. The truck was described as having some rust spots. It was seen in the Big Hill Road area minutes after the robbery, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Berea police or the Madison County sheriff's department.
