Berea police introduce a phone app to report crimes
The Berea Police Department released a smartphone app this week to improve interaction with citizens.
The app, titled “Berea Police,” is available for Apple and Android mobile devices. The app will allow citizens a quick and easy way to stay informed on what is going on in the city, as well as tools for reporting illegal or suspicious activity.
Other key features include: quick access to department services and city ordinances; a “pin location” tool to aid in accurate crime reporting; photo and voice notes to help citizens easily report a crime; “Thank an Officer” and “Report a City Problem” contact forms; and tips for staying safe.
The free app is available on iTunes for Apple users, and Google Play for Android users, said Sgt. Jake Reed, spokesman for the department.
