A 2-year-old boy was in critical condition Monday after nearly drowning in a swimming pool, Richmond police said.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, dispatchers received a call from the 1000 block of Brandy Lane that the boy had been pulled from the pool and wasn’t breathing.
The caller said bystanders had tried to resuscitate the child, but the boy was unresponsive when officers arrived.
Officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the boy until emergency medical workers arrived a short time later.
