A Versailles man is accused of passing out with heroin in the car and a child was in the backseat of his vehicle, according to media reports.
Ryan T. Humphreys, 29, is facing several charges, including driving under the influence, possession of heroin, wanton endangerment and abandonment of a minor, according to court records.
Humphreys was reportedly passed out in his vehicle over the weekend at the air pump of a Kroger gas station, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader's reporting partner. A Kroger employee reportedly tried to wake him up, was unsuccessful and pulled the child from the backseat.
Humphreys allegedly woke up and drove away without the child before police stopped and arrested him, according to WKYT.
Humphreys was booked into the Woodford County jail on Saturday and is being held there on a $5,000 bond, according to the jail's website.
