Louisville man killed in single vehicle collision in Central Kentucky, police say

A man from Louisville was killed in Woodford County Thursday after a single-vehicle collision, according to Versailles police.

The collision happened on Midway Road just after the bypass at approximately 2 p.m., according to Assistant Chief Rob Young with the Versailles Police Department. The lone driver involved in the crash was declared dead on scene.

The Woodford County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 69-year-old James McEwen of Louisville.

The road was shut down between the Lanes View subdivision to Old Frankfort Pike while officials investigated. Young estimated the road was closed for just shy of three hours.

The police department’s accident reconstruction unit is investigating the collision.
