One person died and another was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital after a collision on Lexington Road in Woodford County late Tuesday morning.

The crash involving a pickup truck and a sedan was reported on Lexington Road at Laval Heights at 11:39 a.m., said Assistant Chief Rob Young, of the Versailles Police Department.

Young said the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles. A passenger in the sedan was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. That person’s condition was not known, he said Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the truck had minor injuries that did not require further medical treatment, Young said.

Lexington Road was shut down for about an hour and a half while the Versailles Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated, he said.

The Woodford County coroner’s office had not released the name of the person who died as of about 4 p.m.
