One person dead in multi-family house fire Woodford County
One person died in a Tuesday morning fire in Versailles that engulfed a multi-family home.
The Versailles Fire Department said the fire broke out at a three-story, multi-family house on Macey Avenue. The fire department said the house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters first arrived and adjacent buildings were exposed.
The victim’s identity is being withheld until more information from the Woodford County Coroner’s Office is available.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, and the fire department said the state fire marshal’s office has been notified.
The Woodford County Foundation and American Red Cross Bluegrass Chapter is assisting the displaced residents, according to the fire department. It was not immediately clear how many families lived at the home.
