Central Kentucky restaurant closes after less than one year in business
Amsden Station Restaurant & Bar in Versailles closed on Sunday, June 28, after less than a year in business.
Amsden Station opened on Sept. 12, 2025, in a historic police station at 108 Court St. serving upscale “American modern comfort” food crafted from local ingredients, according to its website. The restaurant’s closure was announced on June 26 in a Facebook post, and the reason for the closure was not specified.
Management invited customers to come eat for the last time over the weekend.
“Very touched by all of the people who came in and/or reached out the last few days. What an amazing community and we will miss you all!” a post made on Sunday night said.
Before it was Amsden Station, the same space was Vallozzi’s, an Italian restaurant. Vallozzi’s opened in September 2023 but closed after less than two years, the Herald-Leader previously reported.
According to Facebook, the restaurant is helping its staff secure employment.
“We have been blessed with an incredible staff, and we are working diligently to help find them all a new opportunity,” the post said. “If you are hiring, please reach out; we have some great candidates!!”
Amsden Station announced new ownership in April. Owners Bil and Lanie Bratcher, who also own Opa’s Icehouse in Versailles, were not immediately available for comment Monday morning.
