Police are asking for your help this week to catch three lottery ticket thieves. If you have information about this crime, don’t try to take action on your own. Anonymous tips, including photos and videos, can be submitted by texting LEXPD plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). Lexington police are asking for help to catch three lottery ticket thieves.

At about 2 p.m. Nov. 27, a thin white man estimated to be between 50 and 65 years old posed as a Kentucky Lottery official in order to gain access to lottery tickets at the Lexington Green Shell station. Police say he stole about 100 tickets.

A few hours later, two others — a thin, blond white woman 20 to 25 years old, and a heavyset white man with a buzz cut, also 20 to 25 years old — cashed several of the stolen tickets at the Shell station on Saron Drive.

Bluegrass Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the solving of this crime.

Suspect of the Week

This week’s Suspect of the Week is Blake Mitchell. Mitchell, 23, is wanted on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and absconding from parole. He is described as a white man, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds (see photo above).
