Man found shot dead in his home in Mount Vernon
State police are investigating a homicide in which a man was found dead of a gunshot wound inside his home in Rockcastle County Friday night.
Bennie Sanders, 71, was found dead in his home on Abway Street in Mount Vernon. State police were called to the home at 7:04 p.m. because of a report of a home invasion with shots fired, according to a news release.
No arrests have been made.
An autopsy was to be conducted by the state medical examiner.
