University of the Cumberlands student shot and killed

A University of the Cumberlands baseball player has been killed.

Zachary Finch was shot and killed Sunday in Charlotte, N.C., according to the university in a news release. Finch was a senior.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Zach Finch,” said university president Larry Cockrum. “Zach was an incredible young man with a very bright future. We ask the entire Cumberlands family to join in praying for Zach’s family and friends during this terribly difficult time.”
