Man arrested in June shooting that paralyzed an 11-year-old girl
A Lexington man has been charged in connection with a shooting on Carneal Road in June that paralyzed an 11-year-old girl, according to Lexington police.
Carlos Jenkins, 23, is charged with first-degree assault and seven counts of wanton endangerment. He’s being held in the Fayette County jail.
Just before 3 a.m. June 13, shots were fired into a house on the 800 block of Carneal Road, according to police. Several people were inside for a birthday slumber party for the girl who was shot. She turned 12 the next day.
The house was struck by more than 30 bullets, according to police.
The girl was left paralyzed from the chest down, according to WKYT.
