A Laurel County mother has been arrested after her baby was hospitalized with methamphetamine and other drugs in his system.

At about 11 p.m. Tuesday, Brandy Mosko, 36, of East Bernstadt, took her 12-month-old son to a residence in Laurel County where meth was being used, the Laurel County sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

While there, Mosko’s baby became ill, so she took him to the emergency room at St. Joseph London. He was transferred to Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington. The baby tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine, Tylenol and ibuprofen, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said Mosko “stated that she was a methamphetamine user and that she was aware the residence she took her son to had potential hazards.”

Social services notified the Laurel County sheriff’s office about the case on Wednesday, but Mosko’s address and whereabouts were unknown.

Mosko was found in East Bernstadt and arrested at 5:26 p.m. Thursday. She was charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12 and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
