1 suspect in Beaumont area bank robbery apprehended

A suspect in a March bank robbery near Beaumont Centre has been apprehended by Lexington police.

Michael T. Taylor, 39, was arrested early Tuesday at a motel on Stanton Way, police said Wednesday. Police are still looking for a second suspect, Jermaine M. Benton.

Both men have arrest warrants for robbery in the armed robbery at United Bank at 3098 Harrodsburg Road on March 31. Initially it was reported that one man with a handgun entered the bank about 12 p.m., demanded cash from the tellers and fled down Arrowhead Drive.

Anyone with information about Benton’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lexington police.
