Lexington police have obtained an arrest warrant for David K. Trent, 41, who is wanted on a charge of murder. Lexington police say he was identified as the shooter by witnesses.
Early Thursday morning, officers responded to a reported shooting on Loudon Avenue and found a “significant amount of tissue and blood on the scene,” County Coroner Gary Ginn said.
The shooting occurred about 5:30 a.m. at the Imperial Estates mobile home park, where police say an altercation between two men led to gunfire.
Lt. Andrew Daughtery said the victim was shot in the face and was taken away by a friend.
Police Lt. Jackie Newman said the victim was found Thursday afternoon in a vehicle on Wickland Drive.
“Robbery and homicide have been interviewing witnesses, and they went out there based on information they gathered,” Newman said.
