A Jessamine County man was charged Thursday with child sexual exploitation, according to Kentucky State Police.

William K. Robinette, 52, was charged with possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Robinette was charged after a search warrant was served at a home in Nicholasville. Equipment used to share images of child sexual exploitation was seized and taken to a forensic laboratory for examination.

The state police Electronic Crime Branch began investigating after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

State police said the investigation continues.
