He tried to steal a motorcycle, but it didn’t work out.

A man who tried to steal a motorcycle before crashing it into the business he was trying to steal it from is now wanted by police.

Christopher M. Stewart, 37, was caught on camera while trying to steal a red Suzuki motorcycle that was parked at Central Kentucky Motorsports on June 14, Lexington police said. The motorcycle belongs to a customer.

“In the process of committing the crime, the suspect crashed the motorcycle into the Motorsports building, causing significant damage to both the bike and the exterior of the business,” police said in a news release. Then Stewart fled in a pickup truck.

Police said Friday that they have obtained warrants of the arrest of Stewart for theft by unlawful taking and two counts of first-degree criminal mischief.
