He threatened to ‘shoot up’ police department. Then Lexington police arrested him.
A Lexington man was arrested Saturday morning after police say he threatened to shoot up numerous places in Lexington, including the Lexington Police Department.
Shaune Maquis Peyton, 37, allegedly threatened to “shoot up” the Lexington Police Department, the Robert H. Stephens Courthouse Plaza and the Lexington jail on social media accounts on Thursday, according to a press release from police. Peyton also allegedly threatened individual members of the Lexington police.
Two days after he allegedly made the threats, Peyton found himself arrested by the people he threatened to harm.
Peyton was lodged in the Lexington Jail and charged with two counts of third-degree terroristic threatening. He is scheduled to be arraigned 1 p.m. Monday. He is also scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 21. for drug-related charges.
