Two girls threaten to kill taxi driver Sunday morning

Two girls are charged with kidnapping after police say the duo held a taxi driver at gunpoint early Sunday morning.

The incident happened when two girls got into a Taxi One cab around 4 a.m. Sunday near New Circle and Tates Creek Roads, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader's reporting partner.

Police told WKYT during the taxi ride, the taxi driver saw that one of the girls had a gun and told them he was unable to continue the ride. At that point, police said the girls told the taxi driver they would kill him if he didn't continue the trip. The taxi driver was able to call police without the two girls knowing.

Police made a traffic stop on Fortune Drive near Danielle Lane and arrested the teens. The two were charged with kidnapping, receiving stolen property, minor in possession of a firearm and drug charges.
