18-year-old woman and juvenile girl accused of terrorizing taxi driver with gun
An 18-year-old woman accused of holding a taxi driver at gunpoint Sunday is due in court Monday afternoon.
A second suspect a juvenile, according to WKYT.
Haley Gardner, 18, was charged with kidnapping, receiving stolen property, theft of services and possession of marijuana after a taxi driver wanted to kick out two girls who had a gun about 4 a.m. Sunday, according to police and media reports.
Police told WKYT that the driver saw his passengers with the gun and told them he was unable to continue the ride. The girls then told the driver that they would kill him if he didn’t continue the trip, according to WKYT.
According to the police report, she “restrained another person unlawfully with the intent to terrorize the victim.”
The taxi driver called police without the girls knowing, WKYT reported. Police arrested the teens near Fortune and Haddon drives.
Gardner was being held in the Fayette County jail Monday. Her arraignment was scheduled for 1 p.m..
