Police searching for gas station robbery suspects

Lexington police are requesting help to identify the men who robbed two Lexington gas stations on Jan. 15.

The first robbery that date occurred just after 8 a.m. at the Mini Mart on Anniston Drive, where a man entered the store wearing a black hoodie and a mask, and displayed a handgun, according to police. He demanded money and left after the clerk complied, police said.

Just before 11 p.m. that night, a second robbery occurred at the Speedway gas station on Liberty Road. A store employee told officers that a man entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from the registers, according to police. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands, and the suspect left.

Monday, police released surveillance video from the store, which shows footage of the man and his vehicle. Anyone with information about thecase is asked to call Lexington police at 859-258-3600.
