Two Estill County students have been arrested and taken to a juvenile detention center after they allegedly twice falsely reported a school shooting, police and school officials said.
Kentucky State Police officials said in a news release they were called Monday by Estill County authorities and asked to investigate an alleged threat called into Estill County High School.
Police said two juveniles allegedly made a phone call reporting that there was someone shooting at the school.
They were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon, and lodged in the Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Center, police said. Both were charged with third-degree terroristic threatening and falsely reporting an incident.
