Lexington police are looking for a man who fired shots inside a KFC restaurant on Saturday morning, injuring a woman who was working there.

Police said Lawrence Westbrook IV, 18, came into the KFC at 1494 Boardwalk at about 10:30 a.m. and yelled for an employee who he was angry at “to come to the front of the restaurant.”

The employee with whom Westbrook was upset had just arrived at work, police said.

Police said Westbrook “pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds to the rear of the kitchen,” hitting a 40-year-old female employee in the ankle. The woman was taken to a hospital.

Six employees were in the restaurant at the time, police said.

Westbrook is wanted on warrants for first-degree assault and five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Anyone with information about where Westbrook is should call Lexington police.
