Two dead in Georgetown apartment following murder-suicide; small child found unharmed

Police in Georgetown are investigating after two people were found dead in an apartment with a small child.

Investigators were called to the apartment on Myers Drive Thursday for a report of “unknown trouble,” according to Georgetown police. Officers heard gunfire in the apartment before finding two people dead, police said.

Police later determined it was a murder-suicide involving 26-year-old Brent M. Woods and 26-year-old Nicole L. Stringer.

A small child was also found unharmed inside the apartment, according to police.

Investigators do not believe any additional suspects were involved in the shooting, according to police.
