Ky. mother sold her baby to a man and woman for $2,000, police say
A Warren County woman allegedly sold her baby to a man and woman for $2,000, and police have arrested all three of them.
Bowling Green police said in a news release that they got information from officials at Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary School Monday about a woman who had given a child away.
The mother, Maria Domingo Perez, 31, gave police “conflicting statements but eventually told police she gave the child away” to Pascual Jose Manuel, 45, and Catarina Felipe Jose, 37, police said.
Jose Manuel told police that he gave Domingo Perez $2,000 for the infant “and was planning to adopt the child,” according to a police uniform citation.
All three were taken to the Warren County Regional Jail and charged with selling or purchasing a child for adoption, a felony.
Social services took custody of the baby, as well as Domingo Perez’s four other children.
