Ky. woman knew she’d fail a drug test, so she took dog pee to probation office, cops say

A Bell County woman is back in jail after she gave her probation officer a sample of dog urine during a drug screening.

Julie Miller, 40, of Arjay, “snuck in a sample” of her dog’s urine when she went to the Bell County Probation and Parole Office for a regular probation visit on Monday, according to the Pineville Police Department.

The probation officer called police, and when the responding officer asked Miller if the urine was hers, “she admitted that it was not, that it was her dog’s urine,” police said in a news release.

Miller told the officer that she had used meth and suboxone and knew she would fail a drug test.

Miller was taken to the Bell County Detention Center on a charge of evidence tampering.

“She was later served a probation violation at the detention center by probation and parole and a short time afterward, a trafficking in controlled substance warrant by the Bell County Sheriff’s Department,” police said in the release.

Bell Circuit Court records show that Miller pleaded guilty in November to a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, first offense.
