Lexington shooting sends one person to the hospital

Lexington police are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Police who were called to the area of Eastern Avenue and Second Street at about 4 p.m. found a victim with a gunshot wound, said Lt. Dan Truex.

He said the person’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Truex said police were told that a man thought to have been the shooter was seen running toward Second Street after the incident. That person had not been found as of about 4:45 p.m.

The window of a florist’s shop at the corner of Eastern Avenue and Second Street appeared to have been damaged by a bullet.
