Man who died after shooting in Lexington has been identified
A 31-year-old Lexington man died after a shooting on Lima Drive late Friday.
Lexington police were called to the 400 block of Lima Drive just after 11 p.m. about a report of shots fired, police said in a news release Saturday. When they arrived, they said they found the man outside an apartment building with apparent gunshot wounds.
Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner’s office identified the man as La Monte Sellers.
The coroner’s office said Sellers’ cause of death “has been established but (is) not being released at this time.”
Police asked that anyone with information about the shooting call them at 859-258-3600.
