After Tates Creek car chase, U.S. Marshals, police catch man wanted in Detroit homicides

A man wanted in connection with a Detroit double homicide was arrested Wednesday after a car chase in Lexington, according to police.

At about 10:50 a.m., U.S. Marshals started chasing a car on Tates Creek Road, according to Lexington police. The car crashed near Albany Road and the occupants tried to flee on foot.

Lexington police were not part of the vehicle pursuit, but they helped catch the occupants of the car when they ran from the car, according to police.

The suspect who was caught is Oscar L. Johnson, according to Lexington police

A 24-year-old man of that name is facing charges out of Detroit on two counts of premeditated murder, according to The Detroit News. The charges stem from a double shooting on Jan. 20 south of East Seven Mile in Detroit, according to the newspaper.

No one was injured in the crash and no other vehicles were struck.
