Lexington youth shot in cemetery, left with serious injuries
A Lexington teen is trying to recover from serious injuries after a shooting in a cemetery Tuesday night, the Lexington Police Department confirmed.
The 17-year-old male was walking through a cemetery when he was shot around 10:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Chiles Avenue, Lt .Jeremy Tuttle said.
The victim had serious injuries at the time of the shooting, but once he got the hospital they were determined to be non-life-threatening, Sgt. Donnell Gordon said.
The victim has not cooperated with police, Gordon said, and they have not been able to identify a suspect or get a suspect description.
Further details of the shooting are under investigation at this time, Tuttle said.
