Man already in jail has been charged with murder of Lexington resident, police say

A current jail inmate has been charged with murder nearly a month after a man was found dead inside his home, police said Friday.

Quentin Love, 32, has been charged with murdering 63-year-old Robert Clay. Police say Love shot and killed Clay.

Love was already in the Fayette County jail on an unrelated charge, Lexington police said in a news release. His other offenses include 2nd-degree assault, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and 1st-degree wanton endangerment, according to the Fayette County jail’s online database.

Clay was found dead in his home on March 3. Police were called to the home for a welfare check.
