Pedestrians find man with gunshot wound to the head in Lexington, police say

A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was found with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The Lexington Police Department responded to a call of a man with a gunshot wound to the head on Rand Avenue off of North Martin Luther King Boulevard Sunday night, Lt. Andrew Daugherty said. The call came in at 11:44 p.m. from two pedestrians, he said.

The man was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital by ambulance, Daugherty said. He did not have an update on the man’s condition Monday morning. He also said police did not yet have a suspect description or additional details on how the shooting happened.
