Lexington police investigate after teen is shot; injuries said to be life-threatening

A teen was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the Woodhill area Tuesday afternoon.

Lexington police Lt. Ronald Keaton said police found the juvenile in a greenspace area behind Hedgewood Court. Police were called just before 3 p.m.

Keaton said police did not have any suspects in custody as of 5 p.m. and were still investigating to determine what led up to the shooting.

A police spokesman said the victim is a male.
