Truck repossession leads to 5 shot, police say. Kentucky man charged in murder

A Garrison man has been charged with murder after shooting five people and killing one of them during a car repossession, according to Kentucky State Police.

In addition to a murder charge, Michael Justice, 47, is facing four assault charges after he allegedly shot five people trying to repossess a 2004 Chevy Silverado on Kinney Road Wednesday morning, police said.

The repossession caused a dispute that led to gunfire, police said. Officers responded to the scene around 12:30 a.m.

Bryan Biggs, 37, died at the scene, police said. The other four victims were Thompson Biggs-Cox, Aaron Cottrell, Bonnie Dalton and Kari Biggs, all of whom are from West Portsmouth, Ohio.

Biggs-Cox, Cottrell and Dalton were taken to local hospitals. Kari Biggs refused treatment at the scene, police said.

In addition to KSP, the Lewis County sheriff’s department, Vanceburg Police Department, Lewis County coroner’s office, Black Oak Fire Department, Vanceburg Fire Department, Garrison Fire Department and Portsmouth Ambulance Service responded.
